Our Founder

SHARAD KUMAR VATS

Sharad was raised in New Delhi and had a young desire to represent India in cricket. He was a committed outdoor athlete who excelled in all of the sports he participated in. When his peers were preparing for engineering and medical entrance exams, he had to give up athletics for personal reasons and instead decided to pursue a career in hotel management. He was given the chance to work for the Taj Group of Hotels, the top hotel chain in Asia (a TATA Group Enterprise). He was elected Employee of the Year in his first year with the Taj Group, and compliments poured in.

His “Super Boss” was Mr. Divya Bhanu Sinh Chavda, a renowned wildlife expert and author of numerous books on Indian wildlife. As a result of his numerous meetings with Mr. Chavda, Sharad embarked on a jungle trek and spent the following few years exploring several national parks.

In 1990, when he was 22 years old, he spotted his first tiger, but he had no clue that this one encounter would thrust him into a life where the forests were everything. Between 1990 and 1999, Sharad traversed India, travelling through the Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Corbett, Dudhwa, Kanha, Bharatpur, and Sariska jungles.

With a renewed feeling of purpose, he quit the hotels and started his own business, Nature Safari India Pvt Ltd, with the tagline “Conservation via Tourism.” As he travelled further on his adventure, he developed and sharpened his skills in wildlife photography. He captured an amazing natural history scene in 2014 when a tiger was preparing to attack an elephant calf. The whole over, people liked this picture.

He built a boutique wildlife resort in Kanha National Park from the first brick because building hotels was in his blood. He ran the facility for ten years before selling it so he could concentrate on his wildlife expedition.

The pandemic began in early 2020, and he had learned never to waste a catastrophe. So he began to write down his observations on the tiger over a period of thirty years, which had never been done before. Sharad wrote “The Tiger CEO” to mix his love of animals with teaching useful business techniques. He says, “The tiger is an enigma that attracts us all. Despite the fact that there are many coffee-table books on tigers authored by a range of experts, I felt obligated to record my own observations and analyses of the fundamental tiger traits that make the cat not only the ultimate predator but also an excellent leader.

At this time in history, when we recognise the necessity for strong leadership to lead us through the difficulties we face, I find myself returning to the tiger for inspiration time and time again. A few of the feline’s traits have been found in leaders throughout history, all around the world, and in a variety of fields, and I’ve shared them with you in the book. I hope this book encourages you to use the key insights from The King of the Jungle. A number of international websites, including Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, iBooks, Google Play Store, and NotionPress, offer The Tiger CEO for purchase.

Our MOTTO

A transition from “Conservation through Tourism” to our organization’s founding motto, “We Serve, We Conserve.” We pioneered this idea and put it into practise at the community level. When tourism soared in national parks, more jobs and a local economy resulted, this motto was realised. It was then time to expand our mission to include “We Serve, We Conserve.”

What began as a pioneering online wildlife tour company has expanded thanks to recommendations from its previous customers, and that was clearly made possible by the excellent services provided by our team.

All of our values and deeds are guided by this creed. Profits come after the needs of the people.
