PENCH & TADOBA WILDLIFE SAFARI TOUR
08 NIGHTS / 09 DAYS
Take a tiger safari excursion through Pench and Tadoba national parks to immerse yourself in the story of The Jungle Book. Animals, birds, and plants abound as you take in the breathtaking scenery and the real-life figures who served as the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s well-known fable. A British officer by the name of Captain James Forsyth clearly described the panoramic grandeur of the Central Highlands during the colonial era, when he watched wildlife coexist in the middle of one of the best habitats of India.
Tigers, sloth bears, leopards, wild dogs, and honey badgers, among many more, are reported to live in India’s two national parks. One might experience a sense of timelessness while on a tiger safari in India while taking in the spectacular vistas of the vast desert.
If you just have a short amount of time, Pench and Tadoba National Areas are two of the most accessible parks to visit in order to learn more about wildlife in general and tigers in particular. These two parks are only a flight and a two-hour drive away, in contrast to other sites that need a minimum 5-hour drive from major airports or an overnight train trip. However, due to their proximity to Nagpur, these two parks should be avoided on the weekends. The resorts see a spike in weekend visitors as a result. Although it has little effect on national parks because safari licences are limited.
As Maharashtra’s first protected forest, Tadoba is a charming tiny rainforest with lovely mountainous terrains on its north and west sides and the clean, perennial Todoba Lake in the middle. It used to be a little-known forest that was sporadically frequented by the few nature lovers seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience in the bush. Recent tiger sightings and numbers have risen, and Tadoba National Park has established itself as one of the industry’s top destinations.
While on an Indian tiger safari, Tadoba is now renowned for some of the best Tiger sightings, but Pench lags far behind. Other unusual fauna, including as Indian Grey Wolves, Indian Wild Dogs, and other prey bases, are drawn to it. The size of the prey base in Pench may be the largest in the nation, and the male Tigers of Pench are second in size only to Kanha. For those who are interested in birding, it also provides a fantastic birding experience. You can view a lot of birds and check them off your list. Other attractions in these two parks include sloth bears, sambar deer, jackals, and Indian gaur.

Tigers occupy the pinnacle of the food chain and a healthy tiger population is an indicator of the well being of the whole forest. Throughout evolution, predators have had a regulatory influence on the population sizes of other species; it is thanks to carnivores, such as tigers, that the number of herbivores is kept in check. In turn, the populations can therefore only fluctuate between certain limits because of this “feedback mechanism”.
With the number of herbivores under control, but not depleted, the forest vegetation is likely to thrive provided humans do not over exploit it. Seeds will be dispersed by new growth will not be prevented by excessive grazing pressure. Healthy vegetation protects the rainwater and safeguards the water table. Many forest are important catchments areas for rivers, upon which many species, including human beings, depend.
Species at the top of the food chain are generally larger and require more space than other animals, particularly if they are territorial . Conserving such species in the wild protects the habitat of many other animals, as well as safeguarding the essential ecological processes such as water and nutrient cycling. Thus the tiger is the guardian of many other creatures.
